【Experience art in Ota Ward!】Hiroko Nakajima: Mute things that speak

Nakajima is an artist who creates mainly three-dimensional works using familiar ready-made objects and found objects.

Nakajima attempts to give observable “contours” to the ambiguous and elusive inner world of human beings by combining the “meanings” she perceives in such objects as leather shoes, glass balls, and other man-made objects with natural objects that retain the breath of life, such as hair, fish skin, and shells, as if they were words.

In this exhibition, with the addition of video and poetry, the contours are given a more complex and three-dimensional appearance, accompanied by “displacement” and “blurring”. Through this observation, you will become aware of “something” that is stagnant within yourself, and will surely reach out to find the words to express it.
