大田区に位置するART FACTORY城南島にて、大田区にゆかりのあるアーティストの展覧会を開催します。
特殊照明作家 市川平、現代芸術家 中島崇、ヴィデオ・アーティスト 河合政之の3名が「Volatility（揮発性、流動性）」をテーマに、光・音・映像を用いてART FACTORY城南島の大きな空間を演出いたします。
関連イベントでは、ゲストを交えたトークイベントや市川・河合によるライブパフォーマンスも開催。当施設初の大型インスタレーションとライブをぜひこの機会にお楽しみください。
コンセプト
Volatility（揮発性、流動性）は不安定な現代の世界を表しています。事実とフェイク、正義と悪、精神と人工知能、あらゆる境界が揺るがされています。錯綜する情報、蔓延する不信と敵対、分断される社会、そしてそれを管理操作するビッグデータ。その中では、リスクを避け、スマホに眼差しを貼り付け、AI に心と頭脳を預けて生きることしかできないのでしょうか？
しかし一方で、この混沌とした状況は、デジタルな計算の限界を超えて偶発性を呼び込み、その裂け目から想像力が生起する場ともなり得ます。それぞれ流動的な環境との関係性をテーマとして、作品を制作してきた3人のアーティストが集まり、引き起こされる化学反応。張りめぐらされた網目を光が駆け抜け、そこかしこに突如現れたイメージは、たちまち揮発して影となり踊りだします。
Volatility のただ中で、カオスとコスモスを行き来しながら、新しい自由を生成する時空間へと向けて。

「Ichikawa Taira, Nakajima Takashi, Kawai Masayuki Three-Person Exhibition “VOLATILITY” 」
Lighting artist Taira Ichikawa, contemporary artist Takashi Nakajima, and video artist Masayuki Kawai will transform the expansive space of ART FACTORY Jonanjima using light, sound, and video, exploring the theme “Volatility.”
Related events include a talk session with guests and live performances by Ichikawa and Kawai. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the facility's first large-scale installation and live performances.
Concept
Volatility represents our unstable modern world. Boundaries between fact and fake, justice and evil, spirit and artificial intelligence—all are being shaken. Amidst tangled information, rampant distrust and hostility, a divided society, and the big data that manages and manipulates it all—is our only option to avoid risk, stare at our smartphones, and entrust our hearts and minds to AI?
Yet this very chaos can also become a space where imagination emerges—a place that invites serendipity beyond the limits of digital computation, a rift where possibility arises. Three artists, each exploring themes of relationship within fluid environments, come together to spark a chemical reaction. Light races through the woven mesh, and images suddenly appearing here and there instantly evaporate, becoming shadows that dance.
Amidst Volatility, traversing chaos and cosmos, toward a new spatiotemporal realm where freedom is generated.
