Ikegami Baien (plum garden) was previously home to Shinsui Ito, a Japanese painter active in the Taisho and Showa period.
His studio was destroyed in the war, and the site was converted into a plum garden and is now open to the public.
There are about 370 plum trees, which is the flower of the city, in the garden, and a riot of fragrant red and white flowers bloom in early spring.
Additionally, it features azaleas, a tea room, Japanese-style room, and suikinkutsu (water harp).
